CLAREMONT, Calif. – Fall sports schedules for
women’s and men’s cross country, football,
women’s and men’s soccer, men’s water polo and
volleyball have been posted on the CMS Athletics website (www.CMSAthletics.org). Also
alumni event dates for soccer and cross country have been finalized
as well. For more information on alumni events, please contact the
head coach of the sport you are interested in and check back later
for more information on other alumni events.

Cross Country Schedule
Both teams return to Claremont on August 25 to begin officially training for the 2013 season. The first meet of the season is scheduled to be held in Santa Barbara on Saturday, Sept. 7. In what has become an alumni event, the meet features a four mile combined race versus the Warriors of Westmont College, followed by a 100-plus person dodge ball competition on the sands of Ledbetter Beach. For those familiar with the CMS cross country teams, the 2013 schedule is similar to 2012. After the season-opening meet in Santa Barbara, the teams have the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 14 and the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 28. The teams kick off October with the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational and the Pre-Nationals meet before getting into SCIAC, regional and national competition to close out the season. The Stags have two non-conference and seven SCIAC games on the 2013 schedule. CMS opens 2013 on the road on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Lewis & Clark (Ore.) before returning home on Sept. 21 for the home-opener against Rhodes. The SCIAC opener for CMS is on the road against La Verne on Oct. 5. CMS has SCIAC home game in 2013 against Occidental, Redlands and Pomona-Pitzer (Homecoming). The Homecoming Game for the Stags is set for Saturday, Nov. 16 and is the regular season finale.
Women’s Soccer Schedule
The 2013 regular season begins on Sunday, Sept. 1 for the Athenas with a home game against Concordia (Calif.). The Athenas start the year with five-straight non-conference games - four of which are home - before beginning SCIAC play on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Chapman. Of the 19 regular season matches, 11 are at home including non-conference matchups against Trinity (Tex.), St. Olaf and U.C. Santa Cruz in addition to Concordia. SCIAC home matches include Pomona-Pitzer, Cal Lutheran, Occidental, Whittier, Chapman, La Verne and Redlands. The Athenas’ alumni game is set for Sunday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. on Pritzlaff Field. Men’s Soccer Schedule
The Stags open the season with five-straight games away from Pritzlaff Field – three non-conference and two SCIAC – before the team’s first home match which is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 18 against Chapman. The team opens the season on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Westmont, followed by non-conference games against Franklin & Marshall along with Messiah the following weekend. In addition, the Stags host U.C. Santa Cruz out of SCIAC play near the end of October. Conference home matches this season include all eight SCIAC foes. The Stags’ alumni game is set for Sunday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. on Pritzlaff Field. For more information on the alumni event, please contact head coach Dan Calichman.
The Athenas open the season with four matches in the Pacific Coast Classic which runs Aug. 30-31. The following weekend the Athenas head to Cal Lutheran for the annual Posada Royale Invitational for four more non-conference matches. On Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Athenas open SCIAC play at home against Whittier. In October, the Athenas host non-conference matches against U.C. Santa Cruz, Kenyon, Susquehanna and Rose-Hulman. Conference home matches this season include all eight SCIAC foes.
Men’s Water Polo*
Men’s Water Polo Schedule
The Stags 2013 campaign begins on the road on Saturday, Sept. 7 with matches against Pepperdine and UCLA. The home-opener for the Stags is on Friday, Sept. 13 against U.C. San Diego. Two major tournaments are on the schedule for the Stags in 2013 with the Inland Empire Tournament set for Sept. 14-15 and the Gary Troyer Tournament scheduled for Oct. 4-5. In addition to U.C. San Diego, CMS has home matches against Chapman, Santa Clara, Cal Baptist, La Verne, Air Force, Redlands and the regular season finale against Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, Nov. 9.
