Jeff Postetter (FR, Kenmore, WA [pictured-left]) and David Ulrich (FR, Summit, NJ [pictured-right]) are two rookies making an impact for the CMS Stags this year.
Ulrich's 3.77 ERA is third lowest on the team, and lowest of the three starting pitchers. After allowing only one run in 6.1 innings of relief work early in the season, Ulrich has been in the starting rotation since his first start on March 14 against Rutgers-Newark. In his first appearance Ulrich gave up two runs in seven innings, leading the Stags to a 12-2 victory. In his six starts, he holds a 2-2 record and his 37 strikeouts are second on the team. Ulrich has come back from Tommy John surgery late in his high school career to excel for the Stags in his first season.
Jeff Postetter holds a 4-5 record with a 6.26 ERA in nine starts. Jeff has made an enormous contribution to the pitching staff in his first year as a Stag, starting the first game in the last eight weekends. His 50.1 innings are second on the team, and he has earned SCIAC wins against Caltech, Whittier and Occidental. On March 6th in the first game of the three game series against Whittier, Postetter threw seven innings allowing two runs, both unearned. Postetter threw his first complete game as a Stag on April 10th against the Occidental Tigers in a 14-4 CMS victory. Postetter has also fielded his position well this season, making no errors in 10 chances. The additions of Ulrich and Postetter have given the Stags a formidable rotation this year.
