The CMS Baseball and members of the CMS Swimming and Diving teams worked together this past weekend to help set up for the 64th Annual Pilgrim Place Festival. It has become a tradition for athletes from the CMS Athletic Department to team up to help Pilgrim Place set up for their annual festival.
Pilgrim Place is a local senior community that serves those who have devoted their life to religious or charitable causes. The annual festival, which brings the community together with a craft faire and bazaar, food, fun and a sing-along festival, is put on as a fundraiser to support those residents that need extra financial help to meet daily expenses. "It always feels good giving back to the community," stated Andor Kesselman (CMC '14), one of over 20 members of the baseball team that volunteered this past weekend. Pilgrim Place resident and festival volunteer, Ron Evans was there to help supervise the athletes assembling the tents. He remarked, "The work was done with lots of good spirit, happy teasing, and constant motion. Where do they get all that energy!"
Members of both the CMS Baseball and Swim and Dive teams plan on helping Pilgrim Place take down the tents after the festival this upcoming weekend.
The Pilgrim Place Festival takes place this weekend, November 9 & 10 from 10:00 AM- 4:00 PM. Admission is free.
