2016 NCAA DIII National Champions; 13 SCIAC Championships

Upperclassmen lead the way for Stags at Baldy View Shootout

UPLAND, Calif. – Highlighted by four individual top-10 finishes, the No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team finished in second place at the six-team Baldy View Shootout, April 12 at the par-70 Upland Hills Golf Course. CMS shot a one round score of 285, six strokes back from Shootout winner La Verne who finished with a 279. Chapman (299), Pomona-Pitzer (299), Occidental (301) and Whittier (308) rounded out the field for the event.

Of the 11 Stags who competed in the event, junior Ben Ho (68) was the team's top finisher, in second place. Ho finished four shots behind La Verne's Andre Bedard who shot a 6-under par, 64. Other Stags in the top-10 were senior Robbie Garcia (70) at even par, senior Jordan Stein (71) and sophomore Justin Beck (72). Other golfers for CMS in the field were senior Patrick Fujieki (74, T-16th), sophomore Kethan Reddy (77, T-23rd), freshman Max Urman (79, T-31st), sophomore Ahmed El Tamami (80, 34th), senior Vedant Jaitha (81, T-35th), senior Steven Limandibhratha (83, 38th) and freshman Samuel Firth (85, T-39th).

Next up for the Stags is the SCIAC Golf Championships April 27-29 at Oak Valley Golf Course.
