School record falls as Stags claim individual and team wins at Embry-Riddle Invite
For the second time in three years, the No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team came away from the Embry-Riddle Invitational as tournament champions. This year, the Stags not only came away with a first place team finish, they won the tournament by 24 strokes and also had the top three individual finishers at the three-round tournament played on the par-72 Talking Rock Golf Course on Sept. 29-30.

Shigezawa Wins D-III Men’s Golf Title, Stags Finish In Fifth
Junior Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golfer Bradley Shigezawa won the individual 2013 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf National Championship on Friday, May 17, with a four-round score of 2-under par at the at The Raven Golf Club at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. The Stags finished in fifth place overall with a four-day score of 1194, just one place behind the program’s best finish at the NCAA Championships which was a fourth place finish in 2012.

At the NCAA Division III Golf Championships, May 14-17, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its postseason awards and three Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golfers have been selected. West Cup Invite Ends For CMS In Tie For First With La Verne
Similar to the last two tournaments, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team and La Verne found themselves toward the top of the team standings. La Verne finished ahead of CMS in both the Collegiate Invitational and the SCIAC #1 tournament, but at the West Cup Invitational, CMS and La Verne ended up even, each with a three-round score of plus-28 at the two-day invitational held March 25-26 at Goose Creek Golf Club.

The CMS golf team made their annual trip up to La Purisima Golf Course in Lompoc, California to take part in the Kingsmen Invitational hosted by Cal Lutheran. The course, already the 33th most difficult in the nation, played even tougher with windy conditions and longer than usual rough. CMS fired a combined three day score of 981 putting them in fourth place overall.
