    Senior Elijah Lichtenberg (CMC) on the men's soccer team was recently selected to represent the United States at the 20th World Maccabiah Games in Israel, July 4-18, 2017. Maccabi USA is an organization that endeavors to build Jewish pride through sports.

    Senior Mehron Abdi (CMC) added another accolade to his name in the 2016 season with the nomination to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s Scholar All-West Region Team. Abdi holds a 3.30 grade point average while studying science and management at Claremont McKenna College.

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer team earned a spot in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Postseason Tournament with a 1-0 win over Whittier College on Saturday night. The Stags needed to win to overtake Pomona-Pitzer in the conference standings for the fourth seed. This will be the first time CMS will compete in the SCIAC Tournament since 2013, when the current seniors were freshmen.

    After a 0-0 first half, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer team put together three goals within 11 minutes in the second beat Caltech 3-0. The Stags took 14 shots in each half but were able to convert on three in quick succession to put the game out of Caltech’s reach.

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer team managed to hold off a comeback from Cal Lutheran University (4-4-0, 3-3-0) and end the night with a 3-2 overtime victory thanks to senior Mehron Abdi’s game-winning goal. After seeing their once 2-0 lead disappear at the end of the second half, the Stags (7-1-0, 5-1-0) managed to regroup and hold off the Kingsmen offense until Abdi’s game-winning goal in second overtime.

    With five seconds on the clock, senior Ian Shelton (CMC) punched in the game winner amidst traffic in the box for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer 2-1 victory over Pacific University (Ore.). In a game that saw more cards than fouls in the second half, CMS pushed through and found a way to maintain their four game win streak to start off the 2016 season.
  • Tight 2-1 win for Stags over Oxy

    In the 14th minute, senior Mehron Abdi (CMC) got an opportunity to put the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer team on the board with a penalty kick. From then on, the Stags maintained their lead and played 89 minutes of shut out soccer until Occidental scored in the final minute for the 2-1 final score of the SCIAC contest.
  • Stags shut out Sagehens 1-0

    In this season’s first installment of the Sixth Street Rivalry, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer team held onto the 1-0 shutout win to beat Pomona-Pitzer to open up conference play. Senior Ryan Karle (CMC) recorded his first goal of the season in the 33rd minute on a cross from freshman Isaiah Alba (CMC).
  • Burke gets first goals in 4-1 win over PLU

    In front of a large crowd of students for the season opener, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s soccer team supplied the energy needed to push past Pacific Lutheran to win 4-1. Following the tie at halftime, senior Michael Crowley (CMC) knocked in the game winner followed by a pair of insurance goals by freshman Patrick Burke (CMC).
