Meet Results- Thursday Feb. 12 Prelims
CMS leads after day one in both the men's and women's meet. On the women's side, CMS leads with 302 points followed by Redlands with 197 and Occidental with 150. On the men's side, CMS leads with 284.5 points followed by Redlands with 214 and Cal Lutheran with 125.
The Athenas turned in a dominant perfomance on day one capped by a CMS and SCIAC record in the 400 Medley Relay. Jenni Rinker (SO, Eagle River, AK), Annie Perizzolo (SO, Aurora, CO), Katie Bilotti (FR, Orinda) and Emma Jones (FR, Eugene, OR) smashed the old record by seven seconds with a time of 3:49.08. The time is also an 'A' qualifier for the NCAA Championships. CMS also won the 200 Free Relay with a team of Rinker, Elica Sharifnia (FR, Beaverton, OR), Bilotti, Jones. Their time of 1:36.23 was a CMS and SCIAC record and an NCAA 'B' qualifier. The Athenas went one-two-three in both the 50 and 500 freestyles. Bilotti won the 50 followed by Rinker and Jones. Carliann Brashier (SO, Highlands Ranch, CO) won the 500 followed by Whitney Dawson (FR, Portland, OR) and Danielle Peebles (SR, La Mesa). Jordan Stewart (SR, Minnetonka, MN) finished second in the 200 Individual Medley. NCAA 'B' performances were achieved by Brashier, Dawson, Stewart as well as by Rinker, Bilotti and Peebles in the prelims.
The Stags won the 400 Medley Relay with a team of Nick Ostreim (SO, Phoenix, AZ), Vincent Pai (FR, Walnut), Austin Hallett (FR, Bainbridge Island, WA) and John Sloat (SR, Lafayette). Their time of 3:27.12 was an NCAA 'B' qualifier. CMS went one-two-three-four in the 200 Individual Medley. Ryan Toohey (SR, Rocklin) won followed by Hallett, Pai and Ostreim. The Stags finished second in the 200 Free Relay with a team of Ryan Kristensen (SO, Saugus), Vincent Schiavoni (FR, Malvern, PA), Jeff McNerney (FR, Paradise Valley, AZ) and Sloat. Kristensen finished third in the 50 free and Stephen Andron (JR, Lafayette) finished third in the 500 free. Toohey and Hallett both achieved NCAA 'B' marks in the 200 IM.
