CMS continues to lead both the men's and women's competition after two days. On the women's side, CMS has 700 followed by Redlands with 370 and Pomona-Pitzer with 343. On the men's side, CMS had 657.5 followed by Redlands with 565 and Pomona-Pitzer with 288.5.
The Athenas continued to turn in record and NCAA qualifying performances. They started off with a CMS and SCIAC record in the 200 Medley Relay. Jenni Rinker (SO, Eagle River, AK), Annie Perizzolo (SO, Aurora, CO), Katie Bilotti (FR, Orinda) and Elica Sharifnia (FR, Beaverton, OR) swam a time of 1:45.99. Jordan Stewart (SR, Minnetonka, MN) and Heidi Wolfgruber (SO, New Canaan, CT) went one-two in the 400 Individual Medley. Bilotti won two individual events, the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke, setting CMS and SCIAC records (56.49 and 57.39 respectively) in each event. Rinker and Tessa Dover (SO, San Luis Obispo) completed a one-two-three sweep in the backstroke. Emma Jones (FR, Eugene, OR) and Danielle Peebles (SR, La Mesa) finished two-three in the 200 Freestyle. Perizzolo and Sharifnia went one-three in the 100 Breaststroke with Perizzolo setting the CMS and SCIAC record (1:04.38) in the prelims). The Athenas finished off the night with a win in the 800 Free Relay. Rinker, Peebles, Jones and Stewart swam an NCAA 'B' qualifying time of 7:45.99. Additional 'B' qualifying marks were turned in by the medley relay, Stewart and Wolfgruber in the IM, Bilotti in the fly, Jones in the 200, Rinker and Dover in the back and Sharifnia in the breast (prelims). Bilotti's back time and Perizzolo's breast time were both 'A' qualifiers.
The Stags were just edged in the session-opening 200 Medley Relay. The team of Austin Hallett (FR, Bainbridge Island, WA), Vincent Pai (FR, Walnut), Ryan Toohey (SR, Rocklin) and Ryan Kristensen (SO, Saugus) broke the old meet record with a time of 1:34.53, but finished 0.19 behind the winners. Hallett won the 400 Individual Medley with Adam Smillie (JR, Baltimore, MD) finishing third. John Sloat (SR, Lafayette) and Ian McGinnity (SO, Mesa, AZ) finished two-three in the 200 Freestyle. Pai, Vince Schiavoni (FR, Malvern, PA) and Toohey went one-two-three in the 100 Breaststroke with Pai setting a new meet record of 56.52. Nick Ostreim (SO, Phoenix, AZ) finished second in the 100 Backstroke. Garrett Smith (SO, Goleta) finished third in three meter diving. The Stags capped off the night with a meet record in the 800 Free Relay. The team of Hallett, Jeff McNerney (FR, Paradise Valley, AZ), Stephen Andron (JR, Lafayette) and Sloat swam 6:52.44. NCAA 'B' qualifying perfomances were achieved by Hallett in the IM, Pai and Schiavoni in the breast, Ostreim in the back and the 800 free relay.
