Stags Fall to #4 UC Santa Cruz

The #6 ranked CMS Men's Tennis Team lost at #4 UC Santa Cruz 6-1 on Saturday in a battle of two top ten nationally ranked teams. On a cool, sunny day in Santa Cruz, the Slugs opened the match by winning at numbers one and two doubles. CMS' Eric Chow and Jason Evans had an impressive win at #3 doubles; however, this wasn't enough and Santa Cruz took the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. In singles action, CMS' David Oehm served for the match twice and had two match points before dropping a tough three set loss to #14 ranked Shane Templeman. The Stags' lone point came in dramatic fashion, with CMS' #2 player William Ellison upsetting the ITA National Champion Kevin Casey 6-3, 1-6, 7-5. The Stags drop to 1-3 overall.
