The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that four Stags earned All-Conference accolades. Sophomore Joe Dorn (Washington D.C.) was named Newcomer of the Year for his exceptional play at #2 singles and #1 doubles, while also being named to the All-Conference 1st Team. Dorn is joined on the SCIAC All-Conference 1st Team by doubles partner and Stags #1 singles player Warren Wood (So. - Del Mar, CA). Sophomore Nikolas Marino (San Diego, CA) and senior Alex Lane (Claremont, CA) were named to the All-Conference 2nd Team.
Dorn is 18-10 overall at #2 singles, with a 4-2 record in conference dual match play. He is currently ranked #10 in singles and #4 in doubles with partner Wood in the West Region. Wood, ranked #2 in the West, is 24-7 at #1 singles and 7-2 in conference dual match play, and earns 1st Team honors for the second consecutive year. Marino, ranked #12 in the West, is 28-5 at #3 singles and 7-0 in conference dual match play, earns 2nd Team All-Conference honors for the second straight year. Lane, ranked #14 in the West, is 23-6 at #4 singles and 6-1 in conference dual match play. He was the SCIAC Athlete of the Year in 2011 and a member of the All-Conference 1st Team in each of the two previous years.
