CMS is ranked #5 Nationally and #1 in the West in the Campbell's / ITA Division III Rankings released on November 1. The Stags had three singles players and one doubles team recognized in the regional and national rankings.
The team's #5 national ranking marks the seventh straight year that the Stags have earned a top five spot in the fall rankings. CMS has earned year-end top five finishes in six of those seven seasons. The SCIAC is also well represented in the polls, with Pomona-Pitzer (#10), Cal Lutheran (#11), Redlands (#16), and Whittier (#26) all ranked in the top thirty nationally and top eight in the west. Occidental and Chapman also earned west regional team rankings (#13 and #14 respectively), meaning that seven of the eight SCIAC teams are ranked.
Individually for CMS, West Regional singles champion Neel Kotrappa (Jr. - La Verne, CA) was the top ranked player for the Stags at #6 nationally and #2 in the west, while sophomore Joe Dorn (Washington D.C.) earned a #8 ranking in the west for reaching the west regional singles semifinal in his CMS debut. Warren Wood (Del Mar, CA) earned a #21 west regional singles ranking, and with Dorn, earned the Stags' only doubles ranking at #2 in the west and #3 nationally
