      <title>2010 CMS Stags Tennis Season in Review</title>

      <description>2010 was another banner year for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Tennis Program, with the Stags taking the third place trophy at the NCAA Division III Team Championship in Oberlin, Ohio in May. The Stags' season was one filled with team and individual accolades: a fifth consecutive undefeated conference title, a second top three national finish in the past three years, ITA All-Academic Team honors, an ITA singles title, an Ojai doubles title, and two ITA All-American awards.</description>

      <title>Stags Take 3rd at NCAAs With Win Over Wash U</title>

      <description>CMS Men's Tennis won the 3rd Place Match at the NCAA Team Championships in Oberlin, OH on Thursday, as they defeated #7 Washington University in St. Louis 5-2. The Stags won two of three doubles for the first time in three days, and then held on for singles victories at #2, #5, and #6 to clinch the dual match. CMS finishes #3 in the nation for the second time in the last three years.</description>

Senior Captain Mikey LIm (Honolulu, HI [pictured right]) won at #2 singles and #3 doubles in an effort that put the Stags within a point of advancing to the final.</description>

      <title>CMS Into NCAA Final Four With 5-2 Win Over Trinity</title>

      <description>Senior Eric MacColl (Greenbrae, CA [pictured right]) won at #2 doubles and got the match clinching victory at #3 singles to lead the Stags to a 5-2 win over #13 Trinity, TX in the NCAA Team Championships Quarterfinals on Tuesday. CMS fought back from a 2-1 deficit after the doubles, winning at #2, #3, #5, and #6 singles to earn a spot in the Division III Final Four. The Stags will play #5 Amherst in the semifinals at 1:00 PM EST on Wednesday.</description>

      <title>Men's Tennis Wins Regional - On to NCAA Elite 8</title>

      <description>CMS Men's Tennis defeated #6 UC Santa Cruz 5-3 on Friday to win the West Regional and advance to the quarterfinals of NCAA Division III Men's Team Championships. The Stags staged a dramatic comeback in doubles play to take a 2-1 lead, and then won at #4, #5, and #6 singles to clinch the match. CMS advances to the NCAA quarterfinals, to be played in Oberlin, Ohio May 25-27.</description>

      <title>Stags Advance to Regional Final Against Santa Cruz</title>

      <description>CMS Men's Tennis earned a 5-0 win over #22 Whitman to advance to the 3rd Round of the NCAA Team Championships. The Stags will face West Region rival UC Santa Cruz, ranked #6, who upset #4 Cal Lutheran by a 5-2 score on Thursday. CMS and UC Santa Cruz will meet for the second time this season on Friday at 1:00 PM, to determine who will advance to the final eight in Oberlin, Ohio, May 25-27.</description>

      <title>Stags Close Out Regular Season With Win at Point Loma</title>

      <description>CMS Men's Tennis picked up its 20th win of the season in a 5-4 victory over Point Loma Nazarene on Friday. Sophomore Robbie Erani (New York, NY [pictured right]) won at #1 singles and #1 doubles to lead the Stags against the 12th ranked Sea Lions. Erani's two tie-break singles win was also his twentieth of the season.</description>

      <description>The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has ranked CMS Men's Tennis  #3 in its Division III national rankings as of April 29. The Stags are behind #1 Middlebury, and #2 Emory in the national rankings, after moving up from #5 as of March 30, and #4 as of April 13. CMS is the #1 ranked Division III team in the West Region.</description>

Johnson, playing at #5 singles, accounted for the Stags' only singles win of the afternoon, as CMS fell to APU 7-2. Johnson completed April with a 6-1 singles record and the loss of only two sets.</description>
