Men's Water Polo goes 3-2 In Inland Empire Tournament

Over the weekend the CMS Men’s Water Polo Team (3-4) competed in the Inland Empire Classic hosted by the University of La Verne and the University of Redlands.

The first game was against SCIAC competitor Cal Lutheran and the Stags emerged victorious with a final score of 10-5.  After a slow first half CMS defeated Caltech, another SCIAC team, later that afternoon in a decisive 14-4 win.  The Stags completed their Saturday sweep with a 14-2 victory over host University of La Verne in their final match of the day.

While Sunday did not go quite as well as Saturday, the Stags competed hard until the final whistle.  UC Davis defeated CMS 10-7 on Sunday morning.  In the afternoon match versus SCIAC foe Whittier College, the Stags found themselves battling against Whittier’s five first half goals.  The Stags were able to rally and make up the difference, but Whittier continued to attack and went ahead with a 3-0 third quarter.  In the end Whittier was able to keep their lead for a 10-6 win over CMS.

The Stags compete next in the Lancer Invite hosted by Cal Baptist on Friday, September 24th and Saturday, September 25th.
