Raskin Named SCIAC Female Athlete Of The Week
PASADENA, Calif. – For her efforts in leading the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's golf team to an 11th place finish at the NCAA Division III Championships, sophomore Shaina Raskin has been selected as the SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week for the week of May 21.
Raskin led CMS to an 11th place team finish, the program's best ever finish, in the 111-woman NCAA Championships field and finished tied for 26th overall with a score of 321. She shot rounds of 83, 79, 78 and 81 and led the Athenas in two of the four rounds.
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was established in 1915. The league is currently comprised of nine private colleges and universities in Southern California: California Institute of Technology, California Lutheran University, Chapman University, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, University of La Verne, Occidental College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, University of Redlands, and Whittier College. The conference recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly and annual basis.
