CLAREMONT, Calif. – Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Director of Athletics Michael Sutton has announced that Lauren Uhr has been hired as CMS' new head women's lacrosse coach. Uhr returns to CMS after eight years as the head coach of Division I Saint Mary's College. Prior to that she coached at CMS for three seasons compiling a 34-13 record.
"I am very pleased that Lauren is returning to Claremont to lead our program. She was instrumental in developing our program in its formative years and has a great appreciation of the mission and goals we have for all of our teams." said Sutton, the CMS Director of Athletics and William B. Arce Professor and George R. Roberts Fellow at Claremont McKenna College. "She will be an excellent coach and mentor for our Athenas and a great addition to our faculty."
During her three years coaching the Athenas, she had 10 players earn First Team All-West Region honors and three players earn All-American honors. Although SCIAC competition in lacrosse had not begun at the time, her teams were 12-0 against future conference opponents. Prior to coaching at CMS the first time, Uhr was the Assistant Women's Lacrosse and Soccer Coach at Limestone College in South Carolina.

Uhr received a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Information Systems from Fairfield University (CT). While at Fairfield, Uhr was a member of the Division I Lacrosse team, receiving several awards including Regional All-American, Conference Player of the Year and First Team All-Conference.
