Athenas beat La Verne 1-0 with free kick goal in OT
The 0-0 tie was finally broken in the 100th minute of play when Samantha Kunz drilled a free kick into the upper right corner for the 1-0 victory over La Verne. The Claremont-Mudd- Scripps women’s soccer team holds onto first place in SCIAC with their eighth conference win of the season.

Game-winning goal by Kunz in OT win over La Verne
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and La Verne played 99 scoreless minutes but in the 100th minute just before the end of the first overtime, Samantha Kunz scored the game-winner for CMS on a direct kick from 30 yards out. The goal gave CMS a 1-0 win over La Verne.

The CMS women's soccer team got back in the win column with a 5-0 home win over Whittier on Oct. 15 on Pritzlaff Field.

Athenas shut out Poets in Wednesday night win
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team took the lead in the 20th minute and never relinquished it. CMS scored early and often for the 5-0 victory over Whittier College on Wednesday evening on Pritzlaff Field. Junior Darrah Shields scored twice in the shutout.

CMS falls at Cal Lu, but remains in first place in SCIAC
Cal Lutheran defeated the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team 3-1 on Oct. 11 in a SCIAC match at William Rolland in Thousand Oaks.

The CMS women's soccer team got a big 3-0 win over Pomona-Pitzer on Oct. 8. The win put CMS alone atop the conference standings with a 6-1 record at the midpoint of the SCIAC season. Watch highlights here.

Athenas shutout Sagehens and take first place in SCIAC standings
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team definitively beat Pomona-Pitzer 3-0 in their first meeting of the season on Wednesday night under a full moon at Pritzlaff Field. The Athenas took an early lead and with bolstered confidence, controlled the tempo of the game to come away with a well-earned win.

Late second half goals lift CMS to road win over Chapman
Goals in the final 10 minutes of the match by Makella Brems and Sydney Smith lifted the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team to a 3-1 SCIAC road win over Chapman University on Oct. 4 in Orange.

Athena soccer alums show they still have game at annual alumni event
Alumnae from the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team returned to campus for the annual Alumni Game on Parents Field on Sunday, Sept 28 after cheering on the Athenas in the Saturday win over Occidental. Alumns back to the Class of 2004 participated in the game against the current Athena squad.

Athenas controlled game to defeat Oxy 2-1
Since they began competition against conference opponents, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team is on a three game winning streak and undefeated in SCIAC after tonight’s 2-1 win over Occidental. The Athenas better their record to 6-2-1 overall and 3-0 in SCIAC.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team almost doubled their goal production on the season in Wednesday night’s 4-1 win over Cal Lutheran. Freshman forward Sydney Smith scored twice for the Athenas.

Penalty kick goal not enough for Athenas against UCSC
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team came up short against a persistent UC Santa Cruz team, 2-1. On the hot Sunday afternoon the Athenas’ only score was on a penalty kick late in the second half by Makella Brems.

Home-opener ends in double overtime 0-0 draw for CMS against Lewis & Clark
Five matches into the season and the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s soccer team has shut out its opponents four times, allowing just one goal. The team’s excellent defensive play continued on Saturday, but the offense could not find the back of the net, as CMS and Lewis & Clark played a double overtime, 0-0 draw on Sept. 13 at Pritzlaff Field in the home-opener for CMS. With the tie, CMS is now 3-1-1, while Lewis & Clark is 1-1-2.
