The CMS women's swimming & diving team defeated Trinity University 138-104 in their 2007 home opener on Saturday. The win was the team's 32nd consecutive dual meet win over Division III competition. The Athenas won seven of the 13 events and added seven seconds and 10 thirds.
Individual event winners for the team included Kevyn Klein (SR, Northridge) in the 50 free, Sarah Heine (SR, Sheridan, WY [pictured]) in the 100 free, Carli Brashier (FR, Highlands Ranch, CO) in the 500 free, Jenni Rinker (FR, Eagle River, AK) in the 200 backstroke and Annie Perizzolo (FR, Aurora, CO) in the 200 breaststroke. CMS also won the 200 medley [Rinker-Perizzolo-Klein-Heine] and 400 free relays [Danielle Peebles (JR, La Mesa)-Rinker-Jordan Stewart (JR, Minnetonka, MN)-Heine].
CMS top-10 performances were turned in by Rinker (50 and 200 back), Perizzolo (50 and 200 breast), Brashier (500 and 1000 free), Chrysanthia Cheung-Lau (FR, Ontario, 200 butterfly) and by the 200 medley relay. Perizzolo's 200 breast time was also an NCAA qualifying time.
