The Athena swimming and diving team bested the California Lutheran Regals on Saturday, January 30 at CLU's pool by a score of 174 to 65. CMS is now 6-0 in SCIAC competition.
Freshman Olivia Graham [pictured] led the Athenas with three wins on the day. Individually, Graham won the 400 IM and the 100 freestyle. She later joined Elsa Cheng, Emma Jones and Katie Bilotti to win the 200 freestyle relay.
CMS had two additional double winners in individual events. Carmen Lundell won both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions, while Jenni Rinker took the 200 free and 100 back events.
CMS's other individual winners were Julia Ogburn in the 1000 free, Katie Bilotti in the 100 fly, Whitney Dawson in the 500 free and Annie Perizzolo in the 100 breast. Perizzolo's 100 breast time was faster than the NCAA B-standard. Cheng, Perizzolo, Bilotti and Jones joined to win the 200 medley relay, narrowly missing a B-cut in that event.
CMS will conclude its dual meet season Saturday, February 6 at CMS's Axelrood Pool vs. the University of Redlands. Diving is scheduled to begin at 10:00 with Senior Recognition and then the swimming competition to begin at 11:00.
