Kristin Lim has been selected SCIAC Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 5 for leading the Athenas to the SCIAC Title in women's tennis. It is the sixth time that a CMS spring student-athlete has been named Athlete of the Week this season.
Lim went 5-0 in singles and doubles at the SCIAC Championships to lead the Athenas to the team title. She partnered with Caroline Ward to win at #1 doubles 8-2 against Caltech, 8-1 against La Verne and 8-4 against Pomona-Pitzer. She won at #1 singles 6-2, 6-3 against P-P, 6-1, 6-2 against ULV and was leading 6-2, 2-1 against CIT when the match was decided. Lim is undefeated this year in singles (26-0) and in doubles (11-0) with Ward as her partner (25-3 overall in doubles). CMS is 28-0 overall and finished 11-0 in SCIAC.
The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was established in 1915. The league is currently comprised of nine private colleges and universities in Southern California: California Institute of Technology, California Lutheran University, Chapman University, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, University of La Verne, Occidental College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, University of Redlands, and Whittier College. The conference recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly and annual basis.
