    The No.8 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team outlasted the No. 24 La Verne Leopards 3-2 (17-25, 25-16, 24-26, 25-22, 15-10) on Tuesday night. The Athenas had to battle back. After dropping two of the first two sets, CMS trailed 15-11 in the fourth set but worked their way back to take the set 25-23 before claiming the final set in dramatic fashion, 15-10, to win the match 3-2.
  • Athenas Squish Banana Slugs in Straight-Set Victory

    For the second time in as many days the No. 8 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's volleyball team earned a 3-0 victory. After a sweep of Caltech on Friday night, CMS was back at it on Saturday afternoon earning a 3-0 (25-14, 25-7, 25-23) sweep over the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs.

    The No. 8 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team rolled to a 3-0 (25-8, 25-19, 25-21) victory over the Caltech Beavers on Friday night for their seventh-straight victory. The match allowed CMS to turn to their bench for production. Setter Jessica Lee (CMC) dished out a career-high 39 assists while Sarah Bruml (SC) led the attack with 10 kills and a blistering .692 hitting percentage. Playing as CMS’ libero, Lina Aluzri (CMC) picked up 17 digs.
  • Athenas Claim Sixth Straight with Sweep of Bulldogs

    The No. 8 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team moved to 15-5 on the season and 8-1 in the SCIAC with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-11, 25-17) victory over the Redlands Bulldogs on Tuesday night. The Athenas swung at a blistering .371 clip in the match, including a .591 mark in the second set alone.

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team extended their winning streak to four games after a gritty 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-23, 25-19) over the University of Redlands Bulldogs. Despite finishing the game quickly, the Athenas were tested by the Bulldogs, especially during the second set when CMS overcame a three-point deficit to take a 2-0 set lead.
  • Arntson, Dinovitz Lead Athenas Past Regals In Four-Set Thriller

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's volleyball team extended it's winning streak to three after defeating the Cal Lutheran Regals on the road 3-1 (25-13, 17-25, 25-15, 25-21). As both sides tried to make adjustments to outplay each other, the Athenas ultimately prevailed thanks to their ability to limit the Regals' offense and generate plenty of free ball opportunities.

    After a tight 3-2 victory on Friday night at Occidental, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team was right back at it on Saturday afternoon, hosting Whittier in Roberts Pavilion. The Athenas made quick work of the Poets winning in straight-sets, 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-21).

    The No. 7 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's volleyball team dismantled the No. 14 La Verne Leopards on Friday night in a 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-12) sweep in front of their home crowd in Roberts Pavilion. Led by Margot Mafra Spencer (SC) and her nine kills, five different Athenas finished with at least six kills. As a team, CMS finished with 40 kills and an impressive .368 hitting percentage in the match.

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women’s volleyball team opened SCIAC play on Saturday evening with a dominating 3-0 (25-7, 25-15,25-13) sweep over CalTech. Melanie Moore (CMC) paced the offense with 11 kills in the match, while Jessica Lee (CMC) dished out 27 assist and Megan Dymerski (HMC) compiled 15 digs in the comfortable victory.

In the afternoon match, the Athenas swept the No. 6 Juniata Eagles 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20). In the evening session, CMS squared off with the No. 4 Emory Eagles, but dropped a hard-fought battle with Emory 3-1 (25-21, 19-25, 25-19, 27-25).

The Athenas mounted a furious comeback against Pacific Lutheran to win their first match of the day in five sets (3-2, 15-25, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22, 16-14). In the nightcap, the Athenas fell in a squeaker to No. 10 Trinity (TX) 3-1 (13-25, 25-23, 28-26, 28-26) in their second match against a top-10 opponent in as many weeks.
