Julia Rigby was raised in the rolling foothills of Tustin, CA.  Her parents, Marty and Jenny, introduced her to the nearby beaches and hills at an early age.  She attributes her interest in self-designing a major in natural history or nature writing to these early nature explorations.  As a senior at Scripps, Julia will be entering her 11th year of cross country running.  She runs because she greatly enjoys working with her coaches, friends and family to accomplish the goals they set together.  Among such achievments are a 17:24 three mile PR set in the fall of 2007 and an 18:02 5K best set in the 2009 cross country season.  On the side, she enjoys horseback riding and aspires to master the kayakers eskimo roll.  As always, she hopes for an exciting and memorable season.
