    After a thrilling 5-4 victory over No. 16 Cal Lutheran on Friday, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team tried to play spoiler in Saturday’s road doubleheader against the Kingsmen, but ended up falling in both games 5-0 and 5-2, respectively.
  • Eller’s walk-off caps senior day comeback

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team could not have asked for a better ending to its final home game of the regular season. Junior Chase Eller (CMC) smacked a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning to put the Stags (15-19, 9-12) past Cal Lutheran 5-4.
  • Stags score 30 in split with Poets
    April 22, 2017
    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team scored 30 runs in Saturday’s double header split with Whittier College. In the slugfest marathon that was the first game of the day, the Poets prevailed with the 14-11 victory over the Stags. CMS threw senior Sam Baughman (CMC) in the final game of the series for the Stags to earn the 19-3 victory.

    Senior Evan Opperman (CMC) brought the hammer on Friday afternoon, clubbing two homeruns on the road to help the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team to a 5-4 victory over Whittier College.

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team had a bittersweet series this past weekend against Chapman University as the Stags (13-18, 7-11) took the opener in thrilling fashion before dropping both doubleheaders on the road to the Panthers (21-10, 12-6).

    Despite the rough start to the weekend series against the University of Redlands, dropping the first two games 12-0 and 4-1, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team managed to string an incredible 12-run comeback in the final game of the series against the Bulldogs to win 18-15.

    Senior Sam Baughman (CMC) put on a pitching clinic against Bates College (2-3, 0-0) on Friday afternoon, striking out eight batters in five shutout innings to lead the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team (5-3, 3-0) to a 5-4 victory.
  • Baughman and freshmen pitchers secure sweep over Caltech

    Stellar defending from the infield and some standout pitching performances helped the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team (4-3, 3-0) sweep its weekend series against Caltech (2-7, 0-3). The Stags narrowly won 4-3 in their game on Saturday, but looked more in control in their Sunday doubleheader as they won 5-0 and 6-3.
  • Stags start season with extra inning win

    The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team (1-3) faced Whitman College (3-1) in a four game series over the weekend to open the 2017 season for both teams. This is the first time since 2006 that the Stags have won their first game of the season.

    On a sunny day in late January, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball alumni and their families gathered for the annual alumni event. First, two teams of alumni squared off in the Vintage Game. Then, the event was dedicated in the names of Nancy and Bill Arce, the founding family of CMS Athletics.
