Shari Appollon joins the Athenas in her second year as an assistant women’s lacrosse coach. Appollon is a 2007 graduate of Syracuse University, having competed on the varsity lacrosse team as a defender for four years. While playing for the Orangewomen she was selected to the IWLCA All-Northeast Region Second Team, anchored a defensive unit that won the 2007 Inaugural Big East Tournament Championship, helped Syracuse to the second round of the NCAA championship for the first time in school history, and was selected to the Athletic Directors Honor Roll. From 2007 to 2009 she was the head coach at the University of Manchester in England where she helped the women’s 1st team to a record of 14-4-1. While coaching in England, her team finished first in their conference for the first time in school history during their 2008/2009 season. Appollon also spent two years coaching at Timperley Lacrosse Club where the women’s senior team mounted a record of 18-0-1, winning two back to back championships.
