CMS Information Gathering Campus Sexual Violence Procedure

Our Mission

CMS Athletics supports the NCAA’s objective of reducing campus sexual violence through policy and Title IX education on sexual violence prevention, intervention, and response. As a committee, we aim to make TIX education relevant and accessible to student-athletes, coaches, and staff through knowledge, empowerment, and advocacy.

Annual Attestation
The NCAA’s Campus Sexual Violence Policy requires all member schools meet the policy’s six provisions each academic year (August 1 - July 31). In the fall, each school’s President/Chancellor, Director of Athletics and Campus Title IX Coordinator must attest to their compliance with the policy for the previous academic year.

Educational Programming and Training
All student-athletes, coaches, and staff must be educated each year on sexual violence prevention, intervention, and response, to the extent allowable by state law and collective bargaining agreements.
  1. Student Athletes: Using interactive, team-based, rotational programming to educate on a multitude of Title IX topics (see Title IX Toolkit)
  2. Coaches and Staff: Completing SafeSport training annually. SafeSport is an independent nonprofit committed to building a sport community where participants can work and learn together free of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and misconduct.
