During the 2024–25 season, the Stags and Athenas achieved significant success, highlighted by a national title from Lucas Lang in the 1650 freestyle, five First Team All-America honors, 22 Second Team All-America honors, 33 All-SCIAC performances, two conference records, and four school records.

Jansen came to CMS from Occidental College, where he served as an assistant coach and games administrator. He has also coached with the Walnut Creek Aquabears USA Swimming Club (Summers 2021–23) and the Lafayette Moraga Youth Association Recreational Team (Summers 2023–24).

A five-year swimmer at the University of Redlands, Jansen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a graduate certificate in Human Resources Management. He concluded his collegiate career by breaking his own program records in the 1000-yard and 1650-yard freestyle events at the 2023 NCAA Division III Championships, where he placed ninth overall and earned Second Team All-America honors. Jansen was a team captain and MVP as a senior and was named the University of Redlands Frank Serrao Male Student-Athlete of the Year in 2023.

A native of the Bay Area, Jansen has lived in Southern California for the past seven years. Outside of coaching, he enjoys biking, golfing, spending time outdoors, and reading.
