Earned a third-place finish in the 200 fly in a tri-meet with Occidental and Whitter ... Swam the 100 fly and 200 fly in duals with UC San Diego and Caltech ... Competed in the 50 free in a dual with Redlands.

Attended Newport High School in Bellevue, Washington, where he was a member of the swimming and diving team … USA Swimming Scholastic All-American … Helped his Newport team to a state championship … Also swam for the Bellevue Club Swim Team … Extracurricular activities included the Newport Investment & Trading Group, DECA, and the Photography Club.
