Personal:I was born in Virginia, but Coloradowill always be my home.  I have a 12 year-old brother Erik whoI would do anything for.  I love the snow.  Waking up toa fresh blanket of snow puts me in the best mood (especially whenI’m in the mountains and get to go skiing).  On thatnote, SoCal seems an odd choice for college but coming to CMC hasbeen one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.  I lovefood…trying foods from around the world is one of myfavorite things to do.  Lucky for me, I live with an amazingcook (she is the reason I have yet to starve in theapartments…).  I’m a fan of countrymusic…don’t judge me.  I also love to travel andexperience different cultures.  Though I am not as interestedin the typical tourist destinations, I find it fascinating to go tothe small villages and towns that are the most preserved andembedded in a country’s culture.  Finally, two of mymost influential people in both tennis and life are my old coachesGay West and Randy Ross.  They have both taught me so much andI am more grateful to them then I could ever show.

In your free time you like to: Hang out withfriends and family, have dance parties, play rukshuk (crazyCanadian rock game) and eat/cook

Favorite sport to watch: I love watching any andall sports!!

If you didn’t play college tennis, what college sportwould you want to play: Lacrosse or soccer

Your ideal week-end get-away: A weekend at myhouse in the mountains.  I would wake up when the slopesopened, go skiing with my little brother and have a cheese fonduelunch on the mountain.  After skiing I would take my puppy ona long walk around the village and watch him roll around and buryhimself in the snow.

Three essential things in your dorm room: Ascrapbook of various pieces of life advice given to me by mydad’s family.  Camera.  Passport.

Favorite quote or saying: Life’sshort…break rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that once made yousmile.

You couldn’t live without your: Family, friends and dreams.

Best part of going to a small college:  Ilove how accessible everything is.  The professors really docare (which is not the case, as I discovered, at most largeschools) and are there to transfer their knowledge, not just forthe research.  It is great to be able to just go into theiroffices and have a conversation about anything that is on yourmind.  I also love the fact that I can be anywhere on campuswithin a matter of minutes…all of my friends are just acouple steps away!!

You love going back home because you missyour….: My family and my puppy (who isn’treally a puppy anymore) Tiggs.

One thing you hope you can do after you graduate, beforeyou have a full time job: Go visit my old roomie whograduated early in Japan with all our friends as well as visitingone of my best friends from London (preferably in her hometownPrague…).

You would never leave the house without: A planand a smile.

The most daring thing you’ve ever done:Parasailing

You wish you were brave enough to: Completely letmy guard down and not worry.

Best gift you’ve ever given: I haven’texactly given this yet but….when my little brother turns 16I want to take him anywhere in the world he wants to go.

Best gift you’ve ever received: On my 21stbirthday I was living in London and had not seen my family (andmost of my friends) in a year.  I was out to dinnercelebrating with a friend and as we were getting ready to order mylittle twelve-year-old little brother popped up from under thetable.  I was so shocked that I screamed!

Last book you read for pleasure: To Live by HuaYu.  A book centered around the power of simplicity, findingthe silver lining in a cloud of grey and the value of life.
