Kyle Kesselring is entering his third season withthe CMS coaching staff as the Defensive Line, Special Teamsand Specialists Coach. Prior to CMS, Kesselring coached atthe University of St. Thomas (MN). While at St. Thomas from2009-2011, the Tommies compiled a 36-4 record and made the NationalPlayoffs in all three of those seasons. In the 2011 season, the St.Thomas defense only allowed 10 points per game and held theopposing offense to an average of 216 yards per game in 14games. At St. Thomas, Kesselring coached the defensive line,special teams, kickers, snappers, punters and holders. Inthree seasons, he coached six 1st team All-Conference selections(four defensive linemen, two kickers) and one 2nd teamAll-Conference performer.
Kesselring spent two seasons as a graduate assistant withSt. Cloud State University from 2007-2009 where he received hisMaster's degree in Sports Management. While at St. Cloud, hecoached the offensive line, tight-ends, kickers, snappers, puntersand holders. At St. Cloud, he coached three 1st team All-Conferenceplayers (one offensive line, one tight-end, one kicker).
He spent the 2006 seasons as the assistant freshmanfootball coach at Los Alamitos High School coaching the offensiveand defensive lines as well as the special teams.
Kesselring is a 2006 graduate of the University of Iowa,where he earned a double major in journalism and health sportsstudies. Kesselring was a long and short snapper for the Universityof Iowa football team and played on two Big Ten Championship teamswhich played in four consecutive New Year's Day Bowlgames.
Kesselring spent one year at St. Ambrose Universityin 2001 where he was a part of a conference championshipteam that made the National Playoffs. He was an offensive linemanand the Fighting Bee's short and long snapper.
Kesselring is originally from Iowa City, IA. As anhigh school athlete, Kesselring was a standout in football andbaseball, earning All-Area honors in football, and All-State,All-Conference, All-District and All-Area honors inbaseball.
Kesselring and his wife Britni reside in Claremont withtheir son Easton (1).
