Ryan McKee (CMC '93) became the seventh Stags Tennis inductee into the CMS Hall of Fame on Saturday night.  McKee - who was introduced by basketball teammate and 2008 Hall inductee Chris Greene - was a two-sport standout in tennis and basketball at CMS.

As a tennis player, McKee's career was highlighted by three individual NCAA championships: one singles title in 1993, and back-to-back doubles titles in 1992-93 with two different partners. He is also one of two Stags to ever earn ITA All-American honors in singles and doubles each of his four playing seasons. McKee was also named NCAA West Region Rookie of the Year in 1990, and then NCAA West Region Senior of the Year in 1993. He won the ITA West Regionals in singles in 1990 and 1992, and in doubles in 1992. He was a four-year 1^st Team All-SCIAC selection, and earned SCIAC Player of the Year honors in 1991 and 1993, while leading the Stags to four consecutive SCIAC titles and year-end Division III national rankings in the top three.

McKee's tennis accomplishments are among the best of any Stags player ever, and yet to consider that he didn't start full-time tennis practice each season until the beginning of  March - a full six weeks into the season - is simply amazing.

As a basketball player, McKee was team captain, team MVP, and a 1^st Team All-SCIAC selection as a senior in 1993. He also earned 2^nd Team All-SCIAC honors in 1991.

In his induction speech, McKee talked of being recruited tennis programs in the Pac-10, but choosing Claremont McKenna College and CMS so that he could pursue his passion for both tennis and basketball in college. He thanked coaches Hank Krieger and Diego Jaramillo - both of whom were in attendance - for their guidance, expertise and encouragement during his collegiate career.

McKee joins fellow Stags Tennis alums Lance Au (CMC '91, 2007), Frank Hinman (CMC '88, 2004) Coach Hank Krieger ('76-'99, 2004), Don Brosseau (HMC '77, 1995), John Blomberg (CMC '76, 1994), and A.J. Shaka (HMC '80, 1992) in the CMS Hall of Fame.
