CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis team traveled to UC Riverside in the morning and earned a 5-2 win, and then came back home in the afternoon to face Division III Brandeis and added a 6-1 win in a Sunday multiple-location doubleheader, with 
Matthew Robinson going 4-0 in singles and doubles and providing both clinching points. 
With the wins, CMS is now 2-2 on the season, after falling to a pair of Division II teams (Concordia Irvine and Point Loma Nazarene) on Friday by 4-3 scores. 
In the Division III opener, the second-ranked Stags earned the 6-1 win over Brandeis, as Robinson, 
Caleb Settles, 
Warren Pham and 
Josh Kim all had singles-doubles sweeps, while 
Morgan Schilling added a singles win. Kim and Pham earned the first doubles win with a 6-1 victory at No. 3, and Settles and 
Brandon Vu rallied from 4-3 down for a 6-4 win at No. 1. Moments after they clinched the doubles point, Robinson and 
Tarm Rojanasoonthon picked up a 6-3 win at No. 2 to complete the doubles sweep. 
In singles, Settles earned the first point for the Stags with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4, and Schilling came back in the first set and took a 6-4, 6-2 win to give the Stags a 3-0 lead. The clinch came from Robinson, who came back from 3-0 down in the second set for a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2. 
The other three courts all went three sets, and Pham bounced back after a slow start to pick up a 0-6, 6-4, 3-0 win by retirement. Kim capped off the match with a comeback 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5 to make the final score 6-1. 
At Riverside, CMS won all three doubles matches, with Robinson and Pham earning a 6-1 win at No. 2, and Settles and Vu securing the point with a 6-2 win at No. 1.

Josh Kim closed out doubles with a 7-5 win at No. 3. 
Pham earned a quick 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles to give CMS a 2-0 lead, and Kim followed with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 5. After UC Riverside earned a point at No. 4, Robinson provided the first of his two clinches with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2. Rojanasoonthon capped off the match by earning a comeback 3-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 win at No. 1, fighting off two match points down 6-4 in the second set tiebreaker. 
CMS will be back in action when it travels to the ITA Indoor Championships next weekend in Saint Peter, Minnesota, opening against Trinity (Texas) on Friday.
