CMS Athletics Installs Perry Weather Monitoring System

A Perry Weather monitoring station is housed at Roberts Pavilion
CLAREMONT, Calif. - CMS Athletics is excited to announce the installation of a Perry Weather monitoring station at Roberts Pavilion. This system provides real-time, on-site weather and air quality data to further ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes, staff, and fans.

Unlike regional reports taken miles away, the Perry Weather system delivers precise data directly from our campus, allowing us to respond quickly and confidently to environmental conditions.

Key Features:
  1. On-Site Weather Data: Tracks temperature, humidity, rainfall, lightning, and heat stress (WBGT).
  2. Central Dashboard: Monitor all CMS locations from one platform.
  3. Mobile App Access: Staff can check conditions when traveling with teams to off-site locations.
  4. Policy Integration: Automated alerts aligned with SCIAC and CMS safety protocols.
  5. Automatic Alerts: Notifications for lightning, heat stress, and air quality hazards.
  6. Lightning Timers: Know exactly when it is safe to resume practices or games.
  7. Air Quality Monitoring: Measures ozone, PM2.5, and PM10 levels on-site—no longer relying on data taken 5–10 miles away.
Access for Coaches & Community
  1. A weather widget is now live on the Sports Medicine page of the CMS Athletics website and can be viewed by anyone at the following link: the following link: CMS Sports Medicine, as well as by clicking on the weather top in the top menu bar.
  2. In-season outdoor coaches will receive app access for real-time alerts during their sport's season (initially limited to 10 users, with additional access available as needed).
This addition strengthens our commitment to athlete safety by taking the guesswork out of environmental conditions and ensuring our teams have the most reliable information available.
