CLAREMONT, Calif. -
Isla Duncan of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's cross country team earned the SCIAC Athlete of the Week Award for events through Sunday, Oct. 18, the conference announced today.
Duncan was the top finisher for CMS for the fourth straight race that she has competed in, finishing in 20:44.3 to end in 13th place out of 223 runners, against a field of mostly DI and DII competitors. She was slightly behind her 20:37.6 that she ran at UC Riverside in CMS' first race on their course at the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 19, which was run in cooler conditions and places her fourth all-time at CMS.
Duncan has now earned the SCIAC Athlete of the Week Award three times this season, including after her performance at the NCAA Division III Pre-Nationals earlier this month.
CMS will return to action for the SCIAC Championships on Monday, Oct. 30 at Pomona-Pitzer's cross country course.
