BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Beckett Heywood came in second place in the three-meter dive, and Jake Simon took second in the one-meter, as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's divers opened their 2026-27 with a dual against CSU Bakersfield. 

The one-meter dive was a close battle between both Simon and Heywood for second, with Simon finishing with 275.70 and Heywood finishing with 275.05, behind winner Alma Smith of the Roadrunners with 315.75. 

Heywood finished with 272.30 points in the three-meter, closing out with his best dive of the day with 53.65 points, his third dive over 50 points on the three-meter board. 

CMS will have its first full meet when it travels to UC San Diego in three weeks.
