Ahmed Elsayed brings more than 15 years of experience in competitive diving and coaching to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. He was a member of the Egyptian National Diving Team from 2000–2015 before continuing his career as a coach and Masters competitor in the United States.

Elsayed began his coaching career with Crown Valley Divers in Laguna Niguel, where he served as an assistant diving coach for three years, followed by two years as an assistant coach at Rose Bowl Aquatics in Pasadena. He then served as the head diving coach at Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamonga and spent five years as the head diving coach at Claremont Pomona Dive Club.

Currently, Elsayed serves as the head diving coach for CMS. During his tenure, he has played an important role in the success of the CMS men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams. In his first year, CMS swept the SCIAC Championships, with the Athenas earning a 1-2-3 finish in both the one-meter and three-meter diving events. He has coached four different Athenas to qualifications for the NCAA Division III National Championships.

During his three-year tenure at CMS, his divers have won six SCIAC individual titles, two NCAA Regional titles, and earned two SCIAC Diver of the Year honors.

In addition to coaching, Elsayed continues to compete at the Masters level. At the World Aquatics Masters Championships in Kyushu, Japan (2023) and Singapore (2025), he earned seven gold, four silver, and one bronze medal. He is also a three-time USA Masters National Champion in springboard and platform diving.

Elsayed is a World Aquatics-certified judge and has served as an international-level diving official since 2016. He is also a USA Diving coach member.

He holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering management from Cairo University and a Master of Business Administration from Westcliff University.
