Gretchen Swanson, MS, ATC

Gretchen (Rodenberger) Swanson joined the CMS athletic department as an assistant athletic trainer in 2018. Since then, she has worked with all CMS team and began working with the Stags Football team in 2021.

Swanson provides rehabilitation-focused, evidence-based care, with a strong commitment to holistic patient wellness. As an active member of the Mental Health Committee, Swanson integrates mental and physical health strategies to support athletes' overall well-being. 

Swanson received her Master of Science in Athletic Training from Chapman University in 2018. During her final semester as a graduate student, she worked at CMS with the winter and spring teams at as a graduate intern. Upon graduation, she was presented with the Outstanding Graduate Student Award for her exceptional hard work and dedication to the athletic training program.

Swanson earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Chapman University in 2016. During her time as an undergraduate student, she had an outstanding lacrosse career, participated in the Athletic Training Student Society and coached girls' lacrosse at Corona Del Mar High School. 

Outside of work, Swanson enjoys trips to the beach, hiking, traveling and spending time with her husband, Jeff, and their German Shepherd, Maverick.
