Mia Brito enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team in the 2026-27 academic year.
Brito joins the Athenas after serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Oberlin College for the last two seasons, where she was part of a coaching staff that recognized as the NCAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2026. She assisted in player development, practice planning and game preparation while at Oberlin, and helped the Yeowomen rank among the top five NCAA Division III teams in stolen bases per game last year.
In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Brito also served a youth coach with the Oberlin Baseball and Softball Federation, coaching athletes at the 12U, 10U and 6U levels.
While playing for Oberlin, Brito served as a team captain and was twice an All-NCAC selection. Scholastically, she played locally at Covina High School, where she earned all-league honors three times.
Brito graduated from Oberlin in 2024 with a bachelor's in history, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in community-engaged education and social change at Claremont Graduate University.
