CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team fell on the short end of a 2-0 final against Pomona-Pitzer in the first of two Sixth Street Rivalry games during the 2024 season.
CMS slips to 5-2-3 overall and 3-2 in the SCIAC with the loss, while Pomona-Pitzer improves to 8-1-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the SCIAC with the win.
The Sagehens swung the game with a goal late in the first half (41st minute) and another early in the second half (52nd minute). CMS managed six shots on the game, with three of them from
Jordan Yates, but Patricia DePalma was able to make two saves to get the shutout.
Sadie Brown had three saves for the Athenas.
CMS will be back at home on Wednesday to take on La Verne for a 7 p.m. contest.
