CLAREMONT, Calif. -
Simone Sabeeh set a meet record in the three-meter dive, breaking 300 points with a 301.50, to highlight the performance of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's swimming and diving team on the first day of a two-day dual with Pomona-Pitzer on Friday at Haldenam Pool.
Sabeeh's 301.50 broke the previous meet record of 289.70, set by Carli Lessard of the Athenas in 2017.
Meilan Uyeno came in second place with a 268.28.
Avalon Sanders was second in the 500 free with a 5:02.95, while
Mackenzie Mayfield was second in the 200 IM with a 2:04.95, an NCAA "B" cut time, with
Elyse Newlands also earning a "B" cut with a 2:05.31 to come in third.
Deanna Wen was second in the 50 free with a 23.86, with
Madeleine Kan close behind with a 23.90 in third.
Caitlin Kuhlmann, Newlands,
Sun Young Byun and Kan opened the meet with a "B" cut in the 400 medley relay in 3:49.67 to come in second. Wen, Mayfield, Sanders and Kan closed it out with a second-place finish in the 200 free relay in 1:35.01.
The second day of the Pomona-Pitzer dual with get underway tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., with an afternoon session at 3 p.m.
