AJ Rohosy earned first-team All-District X honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches and D3hoops.com, both organizations announced today.
Rohosy averaged 21.3 points and 10.5 rebounds for the Stags this season, while setting a new program record for field goal percentage in a season at 64.8 percent (228-352). He a first-team All-SCIAC selection and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the SCIAC Tournament, when he had 28 points and 11 rebounds in a championship game win over Cal Lutheran, including the winning basket with 10 seconds left.Â
Twice during the regular season, Rohosy earned spots on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week, the first coming after a 3-0 week that included a 33-point, 18-rebound performance in a win over La Verne, and a 24-point, nine-rebound effort in a win over then-No. 9 Trinity. The second came when he had 36 points and 16 rebounds, including the winning free throws late in the contest, in a 99-97 win over Redlands.Â
Rohosy helped CMS to the SCIAC Tournament championship and its second straight NCAA Division III Tournament berth, when it fell in double overtime to Ramapo, despite his 24-point, 20-rebounds performance.
By earning a spot on the all-region teams, Rohosy will now be eligible for All-America honors, which will be announced at the NCAA Division III Championships later this month. Â
