AJ Rohosy earned second-team All-America honors from D3hoops.com, the website announced this weekend at the NCAA Championship.
Twice during the regular season, Rohosy earned spots on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week, the first coming after a 3-0 week that included a 33-point, 18-rebound performance in a win over La Verne, and a 24-point, nine-rebound effort in a win over then-No. 9 Trinity. The second came when he had 36 points and 16 rebounds, including the winning free throws late in the contest, in a 99-97 win over Redlands.
Rohosy was a first-team All-Region X selection from both D3hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches, prior to earning his way onto the All-America list from D3hoops.
During the year, Rohosy averaged a double-double with 21.3 points and 10.5 rebounds, while setting a new program record for field goal percentage in a season at 64.8 percent (228-352). He earned the Most Outstanding Player of the SCIAC Tournament, when he had 28 points and 11 rebounds in a championship game win over Cal Lutheran, including the winning basket with 10 seconds left.Â
Rohosy helped CMS to the SCIAC Tournament championship and its second straight NCAA Division III Tournament berth, when the Stags fell in double overtime to Ramapo, despite his 24-point, 20-rebound effort.
Rohosy, who graduated from Washington State in three years and used only two seasons of eligibility as a walk-on for the WSU basketball team, will be back next season for the Stags while completing his MBA at Claremont Graduate University.Â
