ATLANTA, Ga. -
Simone Sabeeh came in fifth in the one-meter dive and sixth in the three-meter dive at the NCAA Division Region 2 Diving Championships at Emory University on Friday and Saturday.
Sabeeh earned fifth place in the one-meter on Friday with a score of 415.50, moving up from sixth to fifth on her final dive.
Meilan Uyeno also came in seventh with 411.80 points for the Athenas.
On Saturday, Sabeeh finished sixth in the three-meter with 414.30 points, just .65 out of fifth.
Josie Kearns came in seventh and Uyeno finished eighth.
The same divers finished in the top four on both boards, which puts Sabeeh fifth in line to qualify for the NCAA Championships out of the region, when NCAA selections are announced this week. CMS already has seven swimmers going, and will try to add Sabeeh to its traveling contingent following her performance at regionals.
On the men's side, Logan Mansfield was 13th on the three-meter, while Beckett Heywood led the Stags on the one-meter win 12th, breaking 400 points with a 401.40.
The NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships will be held in Indianapolis from March 18-21.
