Attended Punahou School in Kailua, HI, where he played water polo and baseball ... Water polo two-time first team all conference ... Player of the year honors ... Helped lead his team to a three undefeated ILH championships ... Four-time male student athlete honors.

Attends Harvey Mudd, where he majors in engineering ... Also will compete as a pitcher for the CMS baseball program ... Father, Mike Scales, played Rugby at UCSB ... Favorite author is Shel Silverstein ... Chose CMS because of "great combo of athletics and academics."
