REDLANDS, Calif. -
Lexie Roth scored the game-winner in the 11th minute, and
Elsie Lindeman added two goals, as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team rolled to a 5-0 win at Redlands on Saturday.
With the win, CMS moves to 12-2-1 overall on the year, including 7-2 in the SCIAC, while Redlands slips to 0-12-2 overall and 0-8-1 in league play.
Roth started the scoring at the 10:11 mark when she scored on a long pass from
Ivy Doran. Lindeman made it 2-0 right before the half when she scored off an assist from
Alyssa Fang with 6:57 to go until intermission.
Lindeman added another goal right after the break, when she scored off assists from Doran and
Riley Zitar, just 2:28 into the second stanza.
Flora Glantz and Fang added second half goals for the Athenas to help put it away.
CMS finished with a 33-9 edge in shots, although
Sadie Brown was called on to make five saves in the first half to preserve the shutout.
CMS will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels for a key road contest at Pomona-Pitzer at 4 p.m.
