LA VERNE, Calif. -
Elsie Lindeman scored in the 80th minute to break a 0-0 tie and
Sadie Brown had a five-save shutout as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's soccer team came away with three road points with a 1-0 win at La Verne on Saturday.
With the win, CMS improves to 9-2-1 overall on the season and 4-2 in the SCIAC, while La Verne remains winless at 0-7-4 overall and 0-3-3 in league play.
Lindeman's goal was the first of her career and came off of a feed from
Robyn Dizon with 10:29 to go. Brown had to come up with two saves in the final 10 minutes to preserve the 1-0 win, the second coming with just 1:40 remaining.
CMS held just a 4-3 shot advantage in the first half, but outshot the Leopards 8-2 after halftime to finish with a 12-5 advantage in that department.

Sierra Troy had shots saved by Leopard goalie Natalia Portillo, before Lindeman finally broke through.
CMS will be back in action on Wednesday when it plays at Caltech at 4 p.m.
