Nick Kennedy Earns SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week for Second Time

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Nick Kennedy of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's water polo team earned the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week award for games through Sunday, Oct. 5, the conference office announced today.

Kennedy had a huge week to help CMS go undefeated at 5-0, including a win over Whittier in its SCIAC opener, and a win over No. 13 UC Irvine as part of a 4-0 weekend at the Gary Troyer Invitational. Kennedy had 6 goals against both Whittier and UC Irvine, breaking an 11-11 tie with 59 seconds left against the Anteaters with the game-winner.

Kennedy also had five goals and five assists in a win over McKendree, his second 10-point game of the season, and scored on all four of his shots in a win over Mt. St. Mary's.

After finishing the week with 22 goals and 10 assists, Kennedy already has 50 goals and 38 assists through 14 games this year. It also marked the second time that he has earned the Offensive Player of the Week honor this fall.

CMS will be back in action when it travels to Chapman on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. contest.
