CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps volleyball team looked like it was headed for a fifth set, trailing Chapman 21-13 in the fourth, but the Athenas rattled off 12 points in a row to come all the way back and take a 3-1 win on Saturday evening at Roberts Pavilion. 
Set scores were 25-16, 23-25, 25-9, 25-21 as CMS improves to 17-6 overall and 11-3 in the SCIAC with the win. Chapman slips to 10-12 overall and 5-8 in the SCIAC with the loss. 
Brooke McKee had 23 kills for the Athenas, and 
Phoebe Shorney added 16 in 29 attempts, hitting .483 on the night. 
Hayden Lin had 38 assists and 12 digs, and 
Mia Urosevic had a team-best 21 digs.
With the score 21-13, McKee and Shorney started the run with kills. An ace from Urosevic made it 21-17, and McKee and Shorney had kills to cut the lead to 21-19. After a timeout, 
Stella Gajar had a kill, and McKee had two in a row to make the score 22-21. Shorney and Gajar combined on two straight blocks, and McKee finished off the match with her 23rd kill. 
Chapman took a tight second set 25-23, but CMS bounced back to win the third 25-9, closing out with an 11-0 run, also on Urosevic's serve. Urosevic had two aces during the run, and Shorney closed it out with a kill. 
CMS will be back in action for Senior Day on Friday night against Pomona-Pitzer, when 
Brooke McKee and 
Shelby McIlroy will be honored pregame.
