Nick Kennedy of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's water polo team earned the SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week Award for games through Sunday, Nov. 16, the conference office announced today.Â
Kennedy had six goals and seven assists to help CMS close out the regular season with a pair of road wins. On Wednesday he had three goals and an assist, including the tiebreaking goal with just over a minute left in regulation, as the Stags defeated Occidental 7-5.Â
On Saturday, Kennedy capped off the regular season with three goals and six assists, having a hand in half of the Stag goals for the second straight game, in an 18-9 road win over La Verne. He picked up the Offensive Player of the Week honor for the third time this year, as he finished the regular season with 85 goals and 71 assists.Â
CMS clinched the No. 2 seed in the SCIAC Tournament with its two wins this week and will open up tournament play with a home game against Redlands on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
