CMS led just 13-11 at the end of the first quarter on a late three-pointer from Tanya Ghai. The Athenas then outscored Oberlin 14-7 in the second to take a 27-18 lead into the break, and then dominated the third quarter 24-8 to pull away.

After Oberlin tied the score 13-13, CMS scored seven points in a row, with Renee Chong knocking down two foul shots, Katie Resendiz converting a layup, and Ghai hitting another three. Chong answered an Oberlin three-pointer to make it 23-16, and Haylie Wang converted off a pass from Laura Strenk to make it 27-16, before the Athenas settled for a 27-18 lead at the half.

Wang capped off an 11-0 run with a follow-up basket and the Athenas were able to cruise from there, leading by as many as 25 points before the margin ended at 18 with a 60-42 win.
