SAN DIEGO, Calif. -
Josephine Jett trimmed a few more hundredths of a second off of her top career times in the 100 and the 200 meters to highlight the performance of the CMS women's track and field team at the San Diego State Aztec Invitational on Saturday.
Jett ran a 11.92 in the 100, placing her seventh in the field of mostly Division I runners and knocking .05 off her personal best set earlier this season, ranking her second in CMS history behind national champion Tyra Abraham, who ran an 11.65 in 2018.
Jett also ranked second in the 200 behind Abraham, and crept a little closer to the program's standard with a 24.79, knocking .07 off of her PR, and leaving behind only Abraham's 24.36 in Athena annals.
Antonia Hekster also came in fourth in the hammer throw with a top distance of 158'4" and
Quinn Smith was sixth in the javelin at 120'6".
Madeline Seifert was seventh in the pole vault at 11'7".
CMS will be back in action next weekend when it travels to Redlands for the second SCIAC Quad Cup of the regular season.
