CLAREMONT, Calif. - Josephine Jett ran a 14.08 in the 100-meter hurdles to take two-tenths off a second off of her own program record to highlight the performance of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's track and field team at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday.

Jett broke the record for the third time this season, the first coming when she ran a 14.30 at the SCIAC Quad Cup hosted by CMS, and the second coming last week with a 14.28 at the Triton Invitational at UC San Diego. This week, she ran a 14.08, which placed second in the meet behind only international runner Robyn Brown of the Philippines. It was also the third-fastest time in NCAA Division III this season, a tenth of a second behind leader Rachel Larson of Ithaca (13.98).

Jett was also part of a 4x100 relay that ran a 47.95 to place third in the meet, along with Luna Young, Mallory Venezia and Sydney Behrens, moving up a spot into sixth in CMS history.

Revere Schmidt was the third-place finisher in the steeplechase with a time of 11:17.64, placing second among collegiate runners behind Emma Nelson of The Master's University. Olivia Backholm (seventh), Emily Kendrick (eighth) and Olivia DeBoer (ninth) were also in the top 10. Talia Green (10th), Brannan Rosenfeld (11th) and Hope Dragseth (12th) led the way for CMS in the 5000.

Sophia Laudi was the top collegiate competitor in the javelin with a throw of 131'4", just off her program record of 132"10" set earlier this season. Antonia Hekster came in third in the hammer throw with a top distance of 159'9", and was second among collegiate competitors behind Hannah Richardson of Azusa Pacific.

Simone Rogers and Georgia Rogers tied for fourth in the high jump with a clearance of 5'1". Madeline Seifert was seventh in the pole vault at 11'11.75".

CMS will be back in action this week at the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational, its final tuneup before SCIAC Championships April 26-27.
